About Samiti
The erstwhile Rajasthan State Electricity Board (RSEB) was formed on 1
st July 1957
to give a boost to the power sector in Rajasthan. During the course of time, RSEB
employee strength grew many folds. Government of Rajasthan on 19
th July 2000 unbundled
RSEB into five different companies to increase operational efficiency. Later, in
2016 another off-shoot company was created to take care of the states need in the
nascent field of power trading.

- Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.,(JVVNL)
- Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.(AVVNL)
- Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.(JdVVNL)
- Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RUVN)
During this journey from 1957 onwards, the engineers felt a need for a platform
for providing immediate help and support the family members in the event of demise
of an officer during his/her service life. To accomplish this, a voluntary organization
named RSEB Engineers Benevolent Fund (RSEB-EBF) was founded in the year 1978, with
the aim of
"providing timely and appropriate financial support to the families of
our Members in an unfortunate event of untimely death". Since then, RSEB-EBF has
been serviced by the voluntary services given by employees and has been serving
the very motive of its formation.
What started as a small closed group organisation, is now a registered organisation
by the name of
"RSEB-Engineers Benevolent Fund Samiti", registered under the Rajasthan
Society Registration Act, 1958, Registration No. 769/2016-17, with membership available
to Engineers and Officers of all the state owned power companies. RSEB-EBF has more
than 2500 members today. The financial help to the family members in case of unfortunate
and untimely demise of a member has been increased to Rs. 4.00 lakhs w.e.f. 12
th
Feb, 2019 and is proposed to be enhanced to Rs. 5.0 Lakhs shortly.
Onetime Membership Subscription at present is Rs. 10,000.00 and is valid for entire
service length in any of the state owned power companies.
